New Hiring Expected For Sales and Marketing Positions - Robert Walters Reports

- Most new hires are expected to be for sales and marketing roles

Tokyo, April 12th, 2010 - Robert Walters PLC (LSE: RWA), Japan’s leading international recruitment consultancy, reports that its recent human resources survey shows that small and medium enterprises intend to add headcount in 2011. Sales and marketing teams are expected to receive most of this new headcount.

Robert Walters’ recent human resources survey found that over 60% of small and medium enterprises anticipate adding 1-10 new positions in 2011. This majority is in contrast to the 15% of employers who intend on recruiting 50 or more new staff for their companies this year. 

New and replacement headcount is expected in 2011, with HR managers from both the financial services and commercial industries planning on adding additional professionals to their sales and marketing teams (42%). Commerce & industry managers in particular intend on hiring for accounting and finance functions (18%), in addition to new sales and marketing staff. Financial services firms, on the other hand, plan on adding to their front-office teams (13%).
