Compliance Officer

About the Role Robert Walters is looking for a Compliance Officer to join the Legal, Risk & Compliance team of an international financial services organization. In this role, you will contribute to building and maintaining a strong compliance framework across European operations. You will work closely with senior compliance leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure that all programs, processes, and controls meet regulatory requirements. This is a dynamic position that combines operational and strategic responsibilities, offering exposure to international markets and opportunities for professional growth.

Role Description

As a Compliance Officer, you will:

• Support onboarding and monitoring of customers across the EU, UK, and US.
• Prepare compliance reports and manage regulatory submissions.
• Monitor adherence to Dutch, EU, and UK laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in developing and implementing compliance programs and internal controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to governance processes, including reporting and follow-up actions.
• Review and update internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Track regulatory developments and industry trends relevant to the role.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure integrated compliance efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and findings.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a compliance-focused role within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch and European regulatory frameworks; UK and US knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with authorized payment institutions or eMoney institutions preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CCEP, CFCS) are an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
