Lead Regulatory Compliance

For a cryptocurrency trader based in Amsterdam we are currently looking for a Lead regulatory Compliance. In this role, you will represent the organization to regulatory supervisors and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to the business, not as an enforcer, but as a strategic partner who helps navigate compliance challenges while enabling business growth. Affinity with cryptocurrency and digital assets is highly valued, as these areas are increasingly relevant to the operations.

Responsibilities Lead Regulatory Compliance
• Analyze existing and new regulations, provide advice on the impact, and formulate clear business requirements
• Act as the first point of contact from Compliance for our trading department, advising on compliance aspects
• Participate in and contribute to business development projects
• Engage with regulatory stakeholders (regulators, exchanges) and respond to regulatory requests and internal/external audits
• Manage and inspire a team of 2 professionals
• Provide training across the organization on compliance-related topics
• Foster a strong compliance culture by developing and maintaining policies and controls

Profile Lead Regulatory Compliance
• University degree in Law, Business Administration or similar
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to the trading department and cooperate closely with other support and control functions.
• Extensive knowledge of the Dutch and European regulatory environment applicable to a (crypto currency) trading company (Wft, IFR/IFD, MiFIR, EMIR, SSR, MAR, SFTR, etc.)
• Proven experience in managing a team, strong leadership, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in structuring regulatory frameworks
• Experience in advising an organization on a global level
• Knowledge and experience of financial markets, financial instruments, and working in an exchange trading environment is a big plus
• Affinity with cryptocurrency and digital assets
• Personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment and fits in an agile company culture
• A proactive learner who is focused on the task, yet flexible and able to prioritize
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven analytical skills and the ability to assess complex situations quickly without being affected by (time) pressure
