financial accountant

For an International Bank in Amsterdam we are looking for a Financial Accountant. You are passionate about finance and accounting. You have an internal drive to solve problems and to continuously look for solutions and improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Assist in the monthly financial close process to assure high quality and timely management information;
• Preparation of ledger accounting, including (review of) controls of daily activities;
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to meet the Group’s deadlines (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, off-balance sheet, impact of US GAAP);
• Prepare accounting entries and maintaining reconciliations;
• Support finance business objectives and participate in project teams;
• Assist with yearly and quarterly audit;
• Addressing any ad-hoc requirements received from the company’s management, group finance, internal and external auditors, other departments in the company;
• Prepare payments for settlements and cash management;
• Process bank statements;
• Prepare cash and KPI reports;

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor, preferably Master degree, in Accounting;
• You have at least 3 years experience in an accountant role or similar;
• High level of attention to detail and a structured way of working;
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment;
• Knowledge of IFRS and preferably Dutch GAAP;
• Exhibit a proactive and collaborative way of working;
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English;
• Socially strong Team player
