Business Controller - Real Estate

For a Dutch Real Estate investor, we are looking for a Business Controller and sparring partner for the management on behalf of the German Infrastructure fund. Your role is to implement and monitor the planning and control cycle (budgeting, financial closing, reporting) in relation to the financial administration of funds and mandates, with an emphasis on preparing and monitoring the financial reports for management and investors.

You will report to the CFO Finance & Risk and the Head of Infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitoring the fund administration carried out by external parties;
• Accompany financial audits;
• Instructs service/accounting providers & checks the rent to be invoiced;
• Draws up reports for investors, banks and service providers;
• Liquidity management, making cash flow overviews
• Reporting (qualitatively & quantitatively) to internal & external stakeholders;
• Ensures process optimization and improvements in the financial administration;
• Managing and optimizing the AO/IC processes;
• Anticipates external and internal changes and translates the consequences into financial processes;
• Budget cycle, oversight of budget vs. actuals reporting;
• KPI reporting & performance analyses;

What you bring

• Master’s degree in the direction of Business/Finance/Economics;
• Completed Post Bachelor Controller study;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position (Real Estate experience is considered an extra plus;
• Fluent in English, German and/or Dutch fluency would be a plus;
• Understanding of accounting principles Dutch/German GAAP and IFRS including audit and procedures;
• High proficiency in Excel;
• The ability to build good relationships with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally (accountants, tax advisers, property managers, joint-venture partners & fund service providers).
