Senior Financial Controller

Company Overview
Our client is a global leader in the digital platform industry, operating some of Europe’s most recognized marketplace brands. From the Amsterdam office, the finance team manages a complex portfolio of holding entities that are key in driving the group’s investments, intercompany funding, and financial flows across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Full financial control and oversight of approximately 30 Dutch holding entities.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for holding companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review trial balances, conduct flux analyses, and validate financial postings.
• Manage intercompany loans, cross-charging, payroll allocations (for a few entities), and investment-related accounting.
• Oversee intercompany revenue and cost accounting, allocations, and eliminations.
• Coordinate with outsourced partners, including shared service centers and external accounting firms, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Support local statutory reporting, regulatory filings, and annual audits in collaboration with external advisors.
• Actively engage with global finance teams, including Treasury, Consolidation, and Legal.
• Provide accounting leadership for projects related to holdings, financial structuring, and process improvements.
• Contribute to internal controls, reporting efficiency, and financial governance across the group.
• Report using SAP S4 HANA, Onestream, and Excel-based reporting tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience, with proven exposure to complex holding structures and multi-entity environments.
• Big Four background (audit or advisory) preferred, ideally combined with in-house experience in a similar controlling role.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and group reporting standards.
• Solid experience working with SAP S4 HANA or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach.
• Comfortable working with data and financial consolidations across international matrix organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to confidently liaise with senior leaders and global teams.
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Must already reside in the Netherlands and have valid working rights (no visa sponsorship available).
