Accounting Manager

We are looking for a driven Accounting Manager with strong leadership capabilities and a solid foundation in accounting principles. You will lead a dedicated accounting team, ensure high-quality financial reporting, and play a key role in shaping operational excellence within the organization.

In this role, you are both a leader and an active contributor — empowering your team to deliver while staying close to the business and the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & People Management
• Lead, support, and develop the accounting team — promoting high performance, collaboration, and accountability
• Set priorities, monitor workload, and ensure clear division of responsibilities and professional growth
• Act as a primary accounting contact for internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  
  
• Accounting Governance & Reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closing processes
• Safeguard compliance with Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and internal accounting policies
• Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements and audit coordination
• Ensure strong financial controls, risk mitigation, and data quality across the team
  
  
• Stakeholder Management & Business Support
• Partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operational teams to support sound financial decision-making
• Challenge and improve current processes and accounting treatments where needed
• Provide clear financial insights and guidance to the business
  
  
• Continuous Improvement & Systems
• Drive efficiency, automation, and standardization in finance processes
• Support system enhancements and digital initiatives to improve data integrity and operational performance
• Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team

Whom we are looking for?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven track record in leading and developing accounting teams
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles and reporting requirements (Dutch GAAP & IFRS)
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder confidence
• Proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Comfortable working on-site in Utrecht 4 days per week
