Accountant

Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with local regulations, improving accounting processes, and supporting the business with valuable financial insights. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on accounting with process improvement and business partnering. Due to the location of the office, having your own transportation or living within commuting distance of Oud-Beijerland is highly recommended.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial and accounting activities, including:

• Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Managing the general ledger and ensuring timely and accurate journal entries.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses.
• Monitoring budgets, costs, and financial performance while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Preparing VAT returns, supporting corporate tax filings, and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Supporting group reporting and financial consolidations.
• Assisting with internal and external audits while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Contributing to process improvements and the optimization of accounting procedures.
• Supporting the implementation and further optimization of SAP within Finance.
• Participating in finance-related projects and providing financial insights to senior management.

Who Are You?

You are an experienced finance professional with a proactive mindset and strong analytical skills. You enjoy improving processes while ensuring high-quality financial administration and reporting.

You bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an international or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is considered a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A high level of accuracy and integrity.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken). Dutch is an advantage but not required.
• The ability to work on-site in Oud-Beijerland. Candidates should have their own transportation or live within a reasonable commuting distance.
