AP Accountant
Are you an accurate and detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for process efficiency? For one of our clients, a leading international organization active in the consumer finance industry, we are currently looking for an AP Accountant to join their enthusiastic Finance team.
As an AP Accountant, you will play an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s financial and administrative operations. You’ll be responsible for managing daily payment traffic across several local bank accounts, reconciling transactions, and allocating incoming payments.
You will report to the Manager Financial Accounting and work closely with colleagues in the finance department to ensure smooth and compliant payment processes.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily payment process, including preparing and processing payment and direct debit batches in local bank accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements and allocate incoming payments to customer contracts.
- Maintain related general ledger accounts, perform reconciliations and postings, and assist with bank control.
- Support month-end closing activities and provide data for internal and external audits.
- Contribute to maintaining accounting manuals, departmental procedures, and work descriptions.
- Identify opportunities to make payment processes more efficient, including automation improvements.
Your Profile
- MBO+ or HBO degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field).
- Strong bookkeeping skills and a solid understanding of financial processes.
- Proficient with Excel and familiar with digital payment systems.
- Advanced level of English (spoken and written).
- Dutch language skills are not required, but a good understanding of and willingness to learn the language is considered a strong plus.
- Accurate, organized, and able to work both independently and in a team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
