Senior Business Analyst

Role description
As Senior Business Analyst, you are the central owner and driver of product and supplier master data, analytical tools and data insights. You act as the critical link between Buying, Finance and IT, ensuring that complex business needs are translated into actionable data solutions and strategic insights.
This is a hands-on, data-centric and senior role with a strong focus on food retail, requiring deep analytical expertise, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to operate in a dynamic, multi-company environment.
Key responsibilities
1. Data Governance & Tool Ownership

Act as the business owner and subject matter expert for Product Master Data and Supplier Master Data, defining standards, ensuring data quality, and managing their lifecycle

Take ownership of key analytical tools, overseeing its functional development, user adoption, and continuous improvement to meet buyer needs

Define data requirements, templates, and quality standards for all critical business tools and data ingestion processes
2. IT Programme Implementation & Delivery

Act as the business-side subject matter expert during major tools and system implementations

Support the definition and setup of supply chain and finance integrations checks at the alliance level and manage data exchange connections with key suppliers, technical implementation teams and partners

Coordinate with external solution providers and internal IT teams to ensure development aligns with business requirements and project documentation
3. Process & Data Standardisation

Analyse existing financial and commercial processes to identify gaps and standardise operations across partner companies

Work with business owners to resolve risks related to requirements and data standardisation
4. Strategic Insights & Analytics for Buying

Proactively analyze data to generate insights, reports, and dashboards that directly support buyers in their negotiation preparation

Translate business questions from the Commercial team into precise analytical requirements and deliver clear, actionable findings

Support the management team with data-driven recommendations for strategic and tactical planning
5. Process Standardisation & Collaboration

Analyse and standardise data-related processes across partner companies to improve efficiency and accuracy

Collaborate closely with Buying, Finance, and partner company stakeholders to understand needs, resolve issues, and drive adoption of data tools and standards
Whom we are looking for
-
Around 8+ years of experience as a (Senior) Business Analyst or Data / BI professional
-
Mandatory experience within food retail (or closely related FMCG / buying environments)

Strong understanding of which data is important, which tools are best suited, and how insights support commercial decisions

Excellent knowledge of databases, data structures and big data environments

Strong experience with BI tooling and reporting

Experience with cloud data platforms and ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation
