Cost Controller

As a cost controller you are responsible for supporting cost control initiatives, analyzing production costs, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes. You will join the EMEA Finance department, be a member of the controlling team and directly report to the plant controller. This is a matrix role with reporting lines internally within the Finance department but also to our corporate Head office.

Responsibilities
• Perform month-end closure on the cost (manufacturing) accounting close process
• Coordinate, analyze, process, and report data related to manufacturing operations

• Calculate, enter and post general ledger transactions in SAP. This activity is already for the majority automated but you have to analyze and check the results (70% automated, 30% manual)
• Prepare periodic variance analysis reports comparing standard vs actual costs
• Analyze all variance drivers and resolve issues to minimize variances
• Develop cost standards for materials, labor and overhead, together with Plant Controller and Operations
• Prepare annual standard cost roll up as part of annual budget process
• Perform inventory valuations and ensure inventory values are appropriate and accurate
• Performs ad-hoc analysis on bills of material, production routings
• SAP Finance Inventory masterdata owner
• Assist during inventory counts
• Perform periodic reconciliations on inventory and support completion of other balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
• Assist with regional and global departmental projects
• Support the completion of internal and external audits and all sox based topics. This has high visibility by top global leadership
• Close collaboration (being a true business partner) with all levels within the
manufacturing organization is highly appreciated. To be seen is key

• Other ad-hoc tasks and projects, as needed

Requirements
• Minimum BSc or equivalent degree in Accounting & Finance
• Ideally have minimum of 5-10 years of experience
• Experience with ERP system SAP
• Experience in US GAAP is a preferred
• It’s a manufactorting (cost) controlling position. Experience with manufacturing closing process is desired
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles
• Knowledge of bill of material and inventory analysis
• Detailed and deadline-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks
• Able to write/speak Dutch and English with full professional proficiency
• Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on mentality

• Most importantly, organizing and structuring skills. This is a sox based company and documentation is key
• Travel to the Czech locations once every other month. A driving license is required and willingness to travel
• As it is a global company, with our corporate Head office located in the US, you may incidentally be asked to participate in meetings during outside working hours.
