Financial controller

We are seeking a Financial Controller with strong experience in financial controlling to join the Benelux office of an international retail company in the retail/design sector. English-speaking candidates are welcome. The most important requirement is solid financial controlling experience.

Your role:
As a key member of the Finance team, you will help elevate the department to the next level. You are proactive, organized, analytical, reliable, flexible, structured, and a true problem-solver. You enjoy being part of a dynamic, international environment and contributing directly to the success of the Benelux Finance team.

Your responsibilities include:

• Financial planning and analysis

• Defining and monitoring KPIs for the Benelux markets

• Developing strategies and supporting various departments in achieving them

• Budget management across departments, including analysis and action plans

• Coordination of year-end closing and the annual audit

• Performing checks on finance data uploads to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Supporting the Finance Manager Benelux with daily operations

• Coordinating projects to further develop the Finance department in the Benelux region

Your profile:

• Independent and precise, with great attention to detail and deadlines

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar finance role

• Full-time availability preferred; part-time considered

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field

• Excellent Excel skills

• Strong analytical skills with a solution- and action-oriented mindset

• Effective communication and presentation skills

• Proficient in Dutch and English; French is a plus

• Open to regular visits to the Antwerp office
