Are you a hands-on Financial Controller who enjoys building structure in a fast-growing tech environment? Our client is a fast-growing energy technology company operating at the intersection of EV charging, smart energy management, and SaaS solutions. The organisation supports customers across the Netherlands and broader Europe and plays an important role in the transition toward more sustainable energy infrastructure. Due to continued growth, the company is looking to appoint a Financial Controller who will play a key role in strengthening the finance function and supporting the organisation’s expanding operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial housekeeping in a fast-growing energy tech environment

• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close, ensuring timely and accurate management reporting

• Prepare financial statements for group consolidation and coordinate with auditors and external advisors

• Manage VAT filings, subsidies, and statutory compliance for the Dutch entity

• Act as the main contact for external accountants, while gradually internalising key finance activities

• Support leadership with cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis linked to growth and operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Financial Controller or Accountant with a strong technical finance background

• Experience managing (parts of) the month-end and year-end close, with a clear understanding of how the close impacts financial results

• Solid knowledge of NL GAAP

• Experience with statutory and compliance reporting, including VAT, corporate income tax, and CBS filings

Nice to have

• Experience in a technology or SaaS environment

• Experience with Exact Online and/or ERP implementations

• Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
