About the Role:
As the Controller/Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving the financial strategy and ensuring accurate, compliant financial operations. You will lead a small finance team and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support business decisions, manage financial reporting, and ensure process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee VAT returns to ensure accurate and timely compliance with regulations.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes effectively.
  • Conduct cash pool reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Lead month-end closing activities, including preparing and updating balance sheet specifications.
  • Book amortization and depreciation entries in line with accounting standards.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting across entities.
  • Handle internal recharges and manage the netting process efficiently.

This position reports to the Finance Director.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a combination of strong technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and experience. Below is a detailed overview of the required skills and qualifications:

Skills:

  • 4–5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within industrial automation or a comparable sector.
  • Accounting Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, amortization, depreciation, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Financial Management: Proven experience with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash pool reconciliation, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) and strong MS Excel skills, including the ability to manage large data sets and perform advanced analyses.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to handle complex financial reconciliations and identify variances with attention to detail.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and mentor a team effectively.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges efficiently and propose actionable solutions.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
