Your tasks and responsibilities

Valvoline Global Operations EMEA has a rewarding opportunity for a Accounts Payable Coordinator.

This position will coordinate the Accounts Payable activities with a remote team of 3 AP professionals and will take the lead in ensuring the smooth operations of the AP function for the EMEA region. The coordinator will look after a timely and efficient payment process of supplier invoices, consistent with the Valvoline policies. This role will establish and improve work processes while monitoring and measuring the activities to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely payment of invoices. This position will also coordinate and oversee the processes of VAT and Statistical reporting for the EMEA region. Furthermore, needs to be able to advise the organization on queries arising from business trade route changes across the region and other VAT queries. Finally, the role continues to support and improve their Cash planning and Working Capital reporting.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate daily/weekly accounts payable operations, including team workload, to ensure activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work to develop and implement processes and system improvements which increase the efficiency of the department while maintaining an effective internal control structure
  • Manage workflow within the team and continuously evaluate the performance of the Accounts Payable team.
  • Perform month end close duties, confirming all invoices are recorded at month end and closing the AP ledger
  • Work with vendors and internal business units to investigate and solve vendor queries
  • Coordinate, support and cooperate with external advisors on monthly VAT & Statistical reporting
  • Being a subject matter expert in VAT and cross border sales transactions and proactively participate and solve queries that arise in their expansion plans
  • Support in developing and maintaining cash projections and WC reporting for the EMEA region
  • Back up for Credit manager EMEA

Your profile and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of international Accounts Payable experience
  • Proven experience in VAT & Statistical reporting and capable to act as internal advisors
  • Excellent communication skills (including written and verbal skills - fluent in English) and relationship management skills.
  • Professional knowledge, skills, and proficiency in ERP software (SAP preferred), strong Excel skills.
  • Hands on, proactive and problem-solving mentality, always looking for process improvements and able to work on different projects at the same time.
  • Desire to continually learn and develop as an individual as well as the team.
  • Able and successful in leading teams and working effectively with cross-functional team members
