Business Controller

Fresh Solutions is a full service provider of fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants and is part of the Greenyard Group. At our location in Waddinxveen there are 3 business units. These are Fresh Solutions Netherlands B.V. (fruit & vegetables), Fresh Solutions Flowers B.V. (flowers & plants) and Greenyard Supply Chain Services (transport).

Together with our Fresh Solutions branches in Germany, we supply one of Germany's largest retailers with fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants.

Are you someone to whom we can entrust our financial, commercial and logistical reporting? Then we are looking for you for our position as: Business Controller

Your tasks and responsibilities

As Business Controller you will work in a young and enthusiastic team consisting of two business controllers, one junior business controller and two financial controllers. You will be responsible for financial, commercial and logistical reporting, monthly closings and various business cases. You provide support for the optimization of processes and the preparation of budgets/forecasts. In doing so, you give solicited and unsolicited advice and compile management information. Data is presented clearly and conveniently in a nice visual, so that stakeholders can see at a glance how things are going. Our work with fresh products provides an interesting but also challenging angle to this role.

Your focus area will be our German Branche, use best practices and knowhow from both the Dutch and German team. To develop a real “Fingerspitzengefühl” with the German business you will be travelling on a regular basis, where Waddinxveen is your main office.

Important activities include:

• Be a sounding board for business and finance.
• Be the initiator of underlying process improvements.
• Build the bridge between commercial and financial figures and departments.
• Develop KPI’s and reports, so the departments can monitor their performance.
• Plan all necessary activities to establish the budget, specify the input requirements and coordinate these inputs with all departments.
• Develop & support financials within LRP, including regular forecasting.
• Make the necessary analysis of the result versus budget and prepare the executive summary for Group management.
• Strengthen the internal control procedures and mindset.
• Performing (sometimes ad hoc) analyses and projects.
• Ensure compliance with group policies and local legislation.

You report to the Manager Business Control, however in specific cases there will be opportunities to report to the Management Team directly.

Your experience and knowledge

• At least 4-6 years of work experience, preferably in the FMCG business
• Relevant Master / post HBO (business administration, applied economics etc.)
• Business-oriented / communicative / analytical
• Mentality of continuous improvement
• Experience with finance controlling in ERP system, Infor M3 is a plus
• Experience with BI tools is a plus
• Working proficiency in English,
• Proficiency in German or Dutch is a plus
