Business Controller

What to expect

As a Business Controller within Protix you will have the opportunity to grow in your function together with the strong growth of the organization. You are a strong sparring partner for the business, where you are able to challenge and provide improvement ideas. In this role you are responsible for budget setting, reporting and monitoring. You work together with colleagues from Finance Control and Corporate Finance to provide the Finance Leadership Team with the correct management information. You have a critical eye and you are driven to challenge the business and provide advice.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• You are the (financial) sparring partner for the various departments, with a strong focus on business partnering. In here, you challenge the business and provide proactive business improvement ideas;
• You support the departments in providing business analyses;
• Within the corporate calendar you are responsible for the budget setting, reporting and monitoring;
• You ensure the translation of the strategic objectives into realistic goals, budgets and understandable (management) reports and other information;
• Support the business to track performance against each budget centre to ensure effective cost control for the business;
• Create periodic management information packs which track budget performance, explain deviations and highlight areas for concern or attention and suggest improvements;
• You are responsible for developing and maintaining various Excel-based models and reports;
• You actively share your observations and insights with the Finance Leadership Team and identify corrective measures and potential areas for improvement;
• You monitor the news, trends and developments at external partners and suppliers.

Who are you:

• You have completed at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Business Economics or a comparable subject;
• You have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position;
• You have excellent communicative skills, dare to have a critical eye and challenge people;
• You are well skilled in using Excel and have an affinity with software;
• Strong in English, both spoken and written, Dutch is a pre;
• You are proactive and a self-starter.
