The Finance Manager will be hands on in approach and accountable for building and driving a proactive Finance agenda to maintain a sound internal controls environment, drive the development and attainment of business strategies and plans across The Netherlands. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Dutch partner team and report to our regional finance lead, who is based in the UK. Together with you we will build a future proof Finance team that enables us to support our rapidly growing business.
§ Act as the main point of contact regarding NL finance matters for internal and external stakeholders;
§ Supervise monthly billing and accounts payable processes, including bank statement reconciliations;
§ Manage the regular month/year-end closing processes, and associated reporting, across the Dutch legal entity;
§ Review journal postings including payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments;
§ Ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled periodically, and issues resolved in a timely manner;
§ Coach the finance team, providing guidance where necessary to facilitate their professional development;
§ Supervise the monthly inter-company settlement process and periodically report to headquarters in Germany;
§ Support leadership in budgeting and strategic planning processes for NL;
§ Liaise with NL and Group auditors as the main point of contact for year-end and tax audits related to the NL;
§ Oversee the preparation and submission of tax reporting, including VAT and corporation tax returns;
§ Liaise with external tax consultants and HR as required, ensuring compliance with applicable tax law;
§ Maintain a strong relationship with Group Finance, assisting on group-wide Finance projects where necessary e.g. financial control improvements, SAP upgrades;
§ Degree in Finance or Accounting with minimum of 6 years of experience;
§ Strong analytical skills, active approach, reliable and dependable in meeting objectives and deadlines;
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency will be essential with a combination of English & Dutch;
§ Ability to work effectively in a team environment with tight deadlines and multiple/competing priorities;
§ Experience of managing a team;
§ Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting;
§ Excellent IT skills, including Excel, and exposure to accounting/finance systems – SAP would be advantageous;
§ Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of interacting with contacts at all levels;
§ Skilled in analysing data and preparing reports;
§ Experience gained in professional services firms would be desirable.
