Finance Manager

With legal entities throughout Europe, they support operations in over 40 countries around the world. Their centralized European Finance department is located in Hoofddorp.

As Finance Manager you will report directly to the CFO and will be his right hand. You and your team of Finance professionals will be responsible for executing the accounting and reporting process for all European legal entities. As their manager, you are also responsible for developing your team to play a proactive role and ensure quality on all accounting and compliance matters.

Your responsibilities are:

• Assure quality and data integrity of all data and reports prepared by the team;
• Owner of GAAP, chart of accounts, D365 authorizations and roles;
• Immaculate delivery of accounting tasks;
• Manage, lead and coach direct reports on KPI’s, competence development during both formal evaluation and informal moments;
• Take the lead in the day-to-day activities, solve ad-hoc issues, drive implementations and optimize and improve processes. Also develop and drive the long-term improvement agenda and manage related projects;
• Manage contact with stakeholders;
• Ensure cooperation and working as one team within Finance & the wider organization;
• Provide financial guidance on local compliance and having close contact with local compliance partners; Challenge local advice and translate this into the optimal solution;
• Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and support (hands-on) accounting activities and lead your team in the monthly/quarterly/year- end closings in the line with the required quality standards;

Above all you are a business partner with focus on results and you bring great organizational skills.

Needed skills & competences:

• In depth knowledge of (international) accounting and finance processes (AP, AR, payroll, billing, foreign currency translation/revaluation and consolidation) combined with knowledge of (local) GAAP, Tax and VAT legislation and Compliance. IFRS knowledge is preferred.
• Finance & Control educational level at University/HBO (Business Economics, Accountancy) with at least 5–10 years of relevant full scope (international) Accounting experience, preferably combined with RA/RC qualification.
• Experience with preparing financial statements
• Accounting, Risk Management (Compliance)and Financial Control experience
• Experience of ERP systems (e.g. D365)
• Languages: Business English (very good); Dutch (preferred)
• Proven leadership, people management and motivating skills
• Knowledge and experience with transfer pricing (pre)
• Operational grip and hands on
• Driven by continuous improvements and efficiency
• Highly proactive and assertive
