I am looking for a Accounting & Reporting Supervisor for a Bio-Tech company in Leiden. You will be leading a team of 2 FTE and reporting towards the Head of Accounting. You are the key player in the whole accouting cycle.

The finance department is currently looking for a talented and highly motivated Accounting & Reporting Supervisor/Finance Supervisor to strengthen their team. You will report to the Associate Director Accounting & Operations.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
o Review specifications prepared by the accounting team, including accrued expenses, prepayments and other receivables, PP&E and grants.
o Prepare payroll accruals specifications.
o Assist in preparation of trial balance.
o Execute and document evidence of the periodic (Sox) controls during closing periods.
o Monitor transactional finance KPI’s and prepare quarterly reporting.
o Assist in providing documentation for external audit.
- Grants and subsidies:
o Monitor reporting requirements for grants.
o Ensure proper recognition of grant income.
o Ensure compliance with requirements for subsidies, such as WBSO.
- Accounts payable:
o Supervise automated invoice scanning and approval process.
o Ensure correct classification and cut-off of General & Administrative expenses.
o Review vendor master data changes.
o Responsible for processing monthly payroll for all employees (Netherlands, US, UK and Germany), including pensions.
o Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions (including option exercises) are processed accurately and timely.
o Reconcile and validate payroll transactions prior to transmission.
o Understand proper taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors.
o Coordinate time-writing process and analyse time-writing reports.
o Review wage tax returns.
- Accounts receivable:
o Ensure correct and timely invoicing of business partners.
o Monitor timely receipt of payments due.
- R&D expenses:
o Ensure proper cut-off of outsourced R&D expenses.
o Act as a liaison with the Clinical Operations and other R&D / Innovation teams.
o Keep track of budgets and timelines of outsourced R&D contracts.
Competencies that are required for making the difference
- Dedicated finance professional with at least 5 years’ experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or a similar degree with an equivalent level.
- Preferably work experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, employee benefits and taxation.
- Leading a team of 2 FTE.
- Critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Planning and organizing – organizational abilities.
