Through their network of six facilities in Europe, the Electric Motion & Pneumatic Division EMEA (EMPD) offers a single source for electric and pneumatic components and systems. This core product range and systems solutions have been developed to fulfil the needs of their customers and continue to develop in this highly innovative field.

EMPD employs more than 600 people at its sites across Europe (Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands).

EMPD is looking for a Location Controller to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results in line with US-GAAP, local statutory requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley and all corporate policies. The position will report to the Division Controller, and will assist the location and division management team in decision making and performance management.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with US-GAAP, internal Policies & Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and maintain effective internal controls
• Being a business partner to location leadership team by conducting meaningful variance analysis of financial results against forecast, prior periods and plan and actively driving actions to improve
• Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial data including income statement and balance sheet
• Actively leading or participating in cross-functional and location/division projects by providing financial support
• Coordinating financial topics with related parties such as Division Controlling team, European Shared Service Center, Sales Companies, Financial Services Management and Corporate offices
• Driving accounting for lean, seeking for continuous improvement and fostering the lean culture in the organization

Your experience and knowledge

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interfacing with all internal and external contacts in English
• Good understanding of IT systems (JDE preferably, business intelligence tools) and especially Excel tools
• Professional qualification or degree in accounting / finance
• 3-5 years’ experience working in a finance function or an accountancy practice
• Knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP
• Maintain highest professional and ethical standards
