(Senior)Financial Controller

As from October 2020 we entered into a partnership with one of Germany's largest retailers

From our locations in Waddinxveen, and Germany we supply them with fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants. This partnership leads to additional complexity and need for integration of the Dutch and German teams. This results in a need to split business- and financial control, leading to this new vacancy.

Your main office will be in Waddinxveen.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Financial controller you will be reporting directly to the Finance Director as well as being a true partner for the Business controller and the management team. You will also be leading 1 Financial control officer.

Your focus is on driving accountability of all management areas by increasing management understanding of the financial impacts, ensure timely monthly reporting, and ensure compliance with group policies and local legislation.

Important activities include:

• Be a financial sounding board for finance director and management team
• Proactively identify and support improvements in accounting, reporting, processes and systems
• Plan all necessary activities to establish the budget, specify the input requirements
• and coordinate these inputs with all departments
• Review of the monthly closing of local books in accordance with IFRS done by the accounting department.
• Cost controlling, including personnel
• Working capital management in line with payment regulations/agreements
• Tax reporting (VAT, Income tax) and transfer pricing
• IFRS16 and other financial reporting topics
• Reporting of P&L, BS and intercompany positions in the consolidation tool towards the Group
• Make the necessary analyses of the working capital versus budget and prepare the
• executive summary for Group management
• Strengthen the internal control procedures
• Coordinate and take the lead during the audits

Important characteristics / competencies are:

• At least 4-6 years of work experience, experience in the FMCG business or audit is a plus
• Relevant Master / post HBO (business administration, applied economics etc)
• Business-oriented / communicative / analytical
• Mentality of continuous improvement
• Experience with finance controlling in ERP system
• Working proficiency in English,
• Proficiency in German or Dutch is a plus
