Your department/team

You will have a flexible workplace at the modern, bright head office in Rotterdam. You can walk from Rotterdam Alexander station to your office within a few minutes. Although it may take a little longer, because you have a chat with a colleague along the way. At Eneco we work hybrid. This means that you work partly from home.

The Group Accounting team is part of the Eneco Financial Services (EFS) business unit, Eneco's largest finance department. EFS carries out the administration of all Dutch entities of the Eneco Group. Your team consists of 11 people, which consists of experts in the field of consolidation & reporting, IFRS and tax accounting. Your tasks and responsibilities

As an IFRS Manager within Group Accounting, you ensure correct financial reporting for the entire Eneco group. You streamline the IFRS issues that come in and distribute them to the team, but you also conduct a review of the answers. You handle complex issues yourself. You will discuss this with various colleagues in the Netherlands and abroad to clarify the question. In addition, you keep track of changes or new regulations and assess this based on the situation at Eneco. You know how to explain complex regulations in an understandable way.

You are able to elaborate IFRS issues in an accounting paper in an understandable manner, substantiated with references to IFRS. You agree on your conclusions internally and then with our group accountant.

• Contributes to the group-wide vision and policy for the functional area (financial reporting) and is responsible for the development of IFRS and statutory annual accounts policy.
• Developing complex IFRS issues from within the business or on your own initiative.
• Provide IFRS advice on MB issues, for example in the event of acquisitions or sales.
• Managing progress on IFRS issues, distributing this within the team and reporting to strategic managers. You strive for continuous improvements to this process.
• You advise the GA team members so that the quarterly reporting to Mitsubishi Corporation is in accordance with the MC rulebook.
• You provide your input for the annual accounts of N.V. Eneco based on IFRS and connected as much as possible to the MC rulebook.
• Implementing and assessing the operation of internal controls (J-Sox requirements) surrounding accounting topics and the related documentation.
• Intensive contact with the group accountant at Corporate level regarding accounting topics.

Your knowledge and experience

You have a high energy level, a positive attitude and ability to execute. So that you realize the intended objectives in an increasingly rapidly changing organization. We are looking for someone with ambition and a background in accountancy.

In addition, the following is important:

• You have an RA/ACCA/CA title and at least 6 years of work experience in a relevant role (such as a technical office at an accounting firm and/or an external reporting position specialized in IFRS).
• Knowledge of & experience with applying IFRS to issues regarding derivatives is an advantage.
• You speak the English language, Dutch is an advantage.
• You are accurate and you naturally work systematically.
• You have strong analytical skills where you are hands-on, solution-oriented and take initiative.
