Legal Contract Manager

For their Schiedam location, we are looking for a proactive Legal Contract Manager to support their Supply Chain operations and project teams.

Role Overview

As a Legal Contract Manager at Huisman, you will act as a key partner to the Supply Chain department and project teams. You will be responsible for advising on, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and supply-related contracts. You provide hands-on legal guidance throughout the procurement and project lifecycle, ensuring risks are managed effectively and contracts align with Huisman’s commercial and operational objectives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, thrives in a technical and project-driven environment, and can translate legal expertise into practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate supply chain–related contracts, including procurement agreements, framework agreements, vendor contracts, and technical service contracts.
• Support Supply Chain teams with legal advice on risk allocation, contractual terms, compliance, and supplier management.
• Act as a Legal Business Partner for internal stakeholders, providing practical and timely legal guidance for ongoing projects.
• Assist project teams and supply chain category managers with contract interpretation, claims management, contractual strategy, and change control processes.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract templates, processes, and guidelines.
• Support broader legal matters when needed, such as corporate documentation, compliance topics, and general commercial legal issues.
• Provide training and continuous knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in Law (LLM), preferably with a focus on commercial or contract law.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in contract management or commercial legal roles, ideally within supply chain.
• Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is considered a plus.
