Legal Counsel

Potential candidates should possess the following attributes:

· University law degree. Qualified lawyer preferred for an EU Jurisdiction.

· At least 2 years of experience in a legal role. Experience as an in-house counsel in a multi-national corporate environment is advantageous.

· Knowledge and experience in commodities markets and/or logistics preferred.

· Advanced written and oral communication skills in English, particularly involving complex legal and commercial concepts. Other languages such as Dutch preferred but not essential.

· Strong computer skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

· Ability to multitask and handle multiple and changing priorities in a reporting matrix.

· Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise critical thinking.

· Team player with a high level of self-motivation; ability to work under pressure within agreed deadlines.

The role will be a part of the EME legal team supporting the Netherlands and wider EME business. The EME legal department currently consist of one Legal Counsel. The role requires close interaction with the senior management and staff in the EME region, with a focus on the Netherlands. Duties will include:

· Overall management and day-to-day coordination of legal, compliance, insurance, and secretariat activities together with Legal Counsel EME. Close cooperation required with the commercial department, QHSSE department and other departments as appropriate.

· Provide clear, practical advice to management and staff on a variety of legal matters.

· Transactional legal support including contract review, negotiation, and drafting of commercial and service provider agreements.

· Litigation and claim management support.

· Working closely with the Group Legal Counsel to manage local and regional compliance requirements and contributing to the development of the Group’s compliance program.
