Compliance Counsel

Advario B.V., a leading global player in energy infrastructure and sustainable storage solutions, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Counsel to join their Legal & Compliance team in Rotterdam.

As Compliance Counsel, you will play a critical role in ensuring Advario's operations adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, while supporting their commitment to integrity, transparency, and sustainable growth. You’ll be working in a dynamic, international environment with a broad range of responsibilities across compliance, privacy, legal operations, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice and support on compliance-related matters across the organization.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal compliance policies and procedures.
• Lead initiatives related to data privacy and data protection, ensuring GDPR compliance.
• Support and enhance legal operations and compliance tools, including training and reporting systems.
• Advise on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and internal investigations.
• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance and integrity.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Assist in compliance due diligence in relation to third-party management, M&A, and joint ventures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, privacy, legal operations and/or risk management, ideally in a multinational or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and European regulatory requirements, especially GDPR.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, cross-border setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Dutch is a strong advantage.
