Contractmanager, based in Hengelo (hybrid)
The Legal & Contracts team of Thales in the Netherlands consists of about 25 people based in Hengelo and Huizen: legal counsel, contract managers and trade compliance professionals. Dedicated to their jobs and the organization.
They work in the office as well as from home. Many of them frequently travel all over the world. Thales has established ‘self organizing’ teams which caters for continuous learning and improving, and much responsibility to each individual in the team.
The Legal & Contracts team deals with complex legal issues. The activities exists of assisting the capture team with the drafting, negotiation and closure of (international) contracts and the subsequent execution of those contracts in the project team. Contracts in an often culturally and politically challenging environment.
Contractmanager
The team in Hengelo consists of about 20 people. Their activitiesainly concern the naval domain: negotiating and drafting multi-million agreements regarding the sales of high-end (to be developed) technology to shipyards and navies all over the world, and executing these contracts during the years thereafter. You will be part of the Legal & Contract team in the German F126 Frigate Project. Within the F126 project Thales is the supplier for the full integration of Mission and Combat System for four German Navy frigates including land based test & training systems. A project of critical importance to Thales.
Within the larger L&C department, you will work closely with a small L&C team dedicated to the F126 project. In this smaller L&C team also German colleagues participate. Together, you’ll plan and organize your activities. Being flexible and able to continuously monitor and adapt your priorities is of utmost importance.
About you
You have at least a Bachelor Degree in e.g. law or in business administration and/or you’ve broad experience in a multinational company as a contract manager. You look forward to a second step in your career and you have an interest to work in an international, highly complex and challenging environment where you, besides the legal aspects, will need to also understand the technical, financial and commercial aspects of a contract.
Furthermore, you have a strong and independent personality, are solution-focused, excellent in team work, able to manage different stakeholders and can set priorities. You are client-focused, have a systematic and persistent way of working, have good negotiating skills and good command of, both oral and written, Dutch and English. Proficient in German would be an advantage. In order to be able to attend other projects on the longer run, a Dutch passport is a prerequisite due to contracts with the Dutch Government that are ‘Dutch eyes only’.
