Our client is seeking a Plant Buyer to take charge of all procurement operations within their Amsterdam plant. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse range of spends, including indirect, CAPEX projects and some direct. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for Amsterdam stakeholders and will work closely with various teams across the business.
This role requires a commitment to generating value for the business, reducing costs, managing contracts and suppliers, and supporting improvement projects.

What you'll do:
As a Plant Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in managing all procurement operations within our client's Amsterdam plant. You will lead the implementation of procurement best practices, perform local procurement projects, manage supplier relationships, implement regional agreements, participate in improvement projects, and serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders. Your ability to optimize indirect spend and manage CAPEX projects will be crucial in this role.
- Lead implementation of Procurement best practices and processes according to procurement policies
- Perform Local procurement projects and category management initiatives
- Responsible for indirect spend optimization (industrial services like mechanical maintenance, cleaning, equipment and spare parts, etc.) and tendering and contracting medium value CAPEX projects
- Manage local supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, drive cost saving actions, tenders and negotiations
- Implement Regional (European) frame agreements in Amsterdam plant and participates in Regional category projects as required
- Participate and support transactional improvements and standardization projects
- Main procurement point of contact for Amsterdam stakeholders, ensuring the correct coverage of plant requirements and urgencies
- Take care of PO creation and management of invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable department
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Plant Buyer position brings an advanced level of Dutch and English language skills along with proficiency in Excel pivot tables and MS Office. Experience with SAP and SRM systems would be highly valuable. You should have basic legal knowledge concerning contractors. Your ability to collect, report, analyze cost data will be crucial in supporting decision making. You should understand and enforce company and local procurement policies and safety regulations. Your analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently will be key to your success in this role.
- Advanced level of Dutch and English
