Interim IT Procurement Manager

For our client based in Amsterdam we are currently looking for an on-site Freelance IT Procurement Manager to join their team on a six-month contract. As an integral member of their procurement department, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the IT and tech domain, focusing on sourcing, negotiations, and vendor management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive procurement experience, particularly within the FinTech industry. Start: ASAP.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) activities, including processing purchase requests, creating purchase orders, and addressing vendor invoice queries.
• Lead and manage sourcing events, negotiations, and bidding processes, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the business.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and ethical standards, while also managing legal considerations in procurement contracts.
• Work closely with internal teams to clearly classify and prioritize procurement requests, ensuring adherence to the client’s procurement guidelines.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and bringing fresh perspectives to the procurement process.

Requirements:

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing within the FinTech, financial services, or tech (SaaS) industries.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience with modern intake/P2P solutions such as Zip, Coupa, Airbase, Tipalti, and ERP systems such as SAP, D365, Oracle, and Workday.
• Strong knowledge of EU regulations, including AFM, EBA, DORA, and GDPR.
• Expertise in negotiating commercial agreements and a deep understanding of emerging technologies.
• Ability to make decisive, high-quality decisions and remain adaptable in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Advanced understanding of Cloud Services, SaaS business models, and related service agreements.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Confidence to question existing processes, speak up, and advocate for continuous business improvement.
