Meet Pim

In 2020, it was time for his retirement, but Pim noticed by everything that he was not yet ready for it. Fortunately, his then employer made an exception for him - he was allowed to stay a few months longer.  

Eventually, Pim resigned at the end of 2020, but this was short-lived. ''I soon realised that just sitting at home was not for me. I started to get bored, and even started following along with my youngest son's studies, who was studying at home because of corona. Pretty soon it started itching again, I wanted to work.''  

In early 2021, Pim saw an interesting interim assignment come up on LinkedIn via Robert Walters at the Volksbank. The assignment fitted well with his specialism - liquidity & capital management - after which Pim decided to contact Dave Duim, consultant banking & financial services at Robert Walters.    

Pim had never worked through a recruitment organisation before, but found working with Robert Walters to be a positive experience. ''Interiming was completely new to me. There were many things involved, especially in the administrative area. Fortunately, Robert Walters' back office works well, and Dave's tips also helped me move forward,'' Pim says.   

After five months of interim work and a well-earned summer holiday, Pim was still not bored with working life.

Fortunately, Dave called him in September for another interim assignment, again at Volksbank. ''This time, too, the process went quickly and without obstacles: everything was finalised within a few days. Moreover, I had previously worked at Volksbank on an interim basis, so I knew the ropes,'' says Pim.  

Whether Pim would recommend Robert Walters to others? Absolutely. In fact, he already has: an acquaintance of his started an interim assignment through Robert Walters. ''The speed, clear communication and strong back office make Robert Walters a successful recruitment organisation. I also experienced a lot of flexibility, which was nice,'' says Pim.   

Pim is now 70 years old and working on his third interim assignment. This one will end soon: ''Should Dave - or one of Dave's colleagues - call me again soon with an interesting challenge, I am certainly open to it. As long as I am fit, my brain is functioning well and I like the assignment, I will keep going. It gives me energy.''
