Financial Accountant

Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in an international manufacturing environment? For an international manufacturing organization in Barendrecht, we are looking for a Financial Accountant to strengthen the Finance & Accounting team.

What will you do?

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities. You will work on the monthly closing, financial reporting, tax-related activities and the day-to-day administration, while also contributing to process improvements and financial analysis.

Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Accounting

• Processing and reviewing financial transactions and journal entries;
• Managing and monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable;
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the monthly closing process;
• Contributing to the preparation of profit & loss statements and financial reports;
• Providing financial data for group consolidation and internal reporting;
• Preparing and supporting tax declarations, including VAT and intra-community transactions;
• Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of the financial administration.

Analysis & Reporting

• Analyzing financial data and business processes from a financial perspective;
• Monitoring budgets versus actual results and identifying relevant variances;
• Supporting internal audits and financial control activities;
• Providing financial insights to management and other internal stakeholders;
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and internal procedures.

Process Improvement

• Contributing to the optimization of accounting procedures and internal controls;
• Supporting the further implementation and improvement of SAP within accounting processes;
• Participating in finance-related projects and other ad-hoc assignments;
• Working together with colleagues across different departments and international locations.

What do you bring?

• A completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a related field;
• Several years of relevant experience within financial accounting;
• Experience within a manufacturing environment or demonstrable SAP knowledge is required;
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting;
• Good understanding of VAT and other relevant tax regulations;
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial systems;
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

The Dutch organization is based in Barendrecht and forms part of a larger international group. From this location, the Finance & Accounting team supports the local business while working closely with international colleagues and group finance.
