Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking our first Senior Legal Counsel to build and lead the company’s legal function during a critical phase of growth in the offshore wind sector. This role is both hands-on and strategic, balancing day-to-day legal and contractual execution with senior advisory responsibilities to the team. The successful candidate will act as a trusted commercial and risk advisor to the business, supporting complex wind turbine repair projects across multiple jurisdictions. Approximately 70% of the role will focus on legal matters, administration, and contract delivery, with 30% dedicated to strategic, structural, and risk-shaping initiatives to enable scale, bankability, and disciplined growth. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and will work closely with Commercial, Operations, Finance, and HSE leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate all commercial contracts
• Develop and maintain LiftOff’s standard Terms & Conditions
• Manage the patent portfolio and support the broader IP strategy
• Handle claims, disputes, and other legal matters
• Build internal contract templates, processes, and governance structures
• Manage the company’s insurance policies
• Act as the primary interface with external legal and IP counsel, managing scope and reducing external spending over time
• Develop corporate governance policies and internal control systems to scale with the business
• Contribute to multi-year business planning and financial modelling alongside the leadership team
• Support growth financing processes: investor materials, due diligence preparation, deal structuring
• Lead the pre-qualification process with clients, ensuring that the company meets all necessary criteria to bid and win contracts
• Strategize with Managing Director on commercial deals, strategy, and associated risk
• Bring structure to commercial decision-making without compromising performance

Candidate Profile
No international candidates will be selected, only candidates with a Dutch Master and Dutch working experience.

• LL.B / Ll.M Master degree in Dutch Law, preferably with a commercial or contract law focus 5–8 years of relevant experience in the offshore energy sector
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
• Experience with Intellectual Property matters
• Excellent Dutch and English language skills, written and spoken
• Self-starter, ability to roll up your sleeves
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong affinity with financial matters and business concepts
• Experience with board-level business management / financial management
• Exposure to growth financing, investor relations, or scale-up environments
