Interim- Operations Transformation Project Manager A financial services organisation in Amsterdam is looking for a hands-on interim professional to help design and implement a target operating model for its regulated payments business.

Working closely with the COO, you will translate an operational vision into clear processes, technology requirements and a practical delivery plan. Regulatory compliance comes first, alongside an efficient operating model that supports the business.

Your responsibilities

• Assess current operations, workflows, systems and responsibilities to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

• Develop the target operating model, defining ownership, hand-offs, controls, decision-making and escalation routes.

• Work with Compliance and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational processes.

• Identify opportunities for automation and determine which activities require human judgement or specialist oversight.

• Define business and technology requirements and support solution assessment and vendor selection.

• Align stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, Customer Service, Product and Technology.

• Drive implementation, managing milestones, dependencies, risks and outstanding decisions.

• Develop process documentation and support training, handover and adoption of the new operating model.

Your profile

• Experience delivering operational transformation within a regulated financial institution, ideally in payments, retail banking or SME banking.

• A background in project management and business analysis, with experience designing and implementing operating models or process improvements.

• A sound understanding of how regulatory obligations, business needs and technology interact.

• Experience with workflow automation, systems implementation or vendor assessment.

• Familiarity with KYC and customer onboarding processes.

• Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to turn discussions into clear decisions and actions.

• A practical, hands-on approach, with the confidence to drive delivery independently while keeping senior stakeholders informed.
