Commodity Buyer – Space & High-Tech Industry

About the role
- As Commodity Buyer you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and supplier management of launcher-related commodities, including fasteners, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and other technical site supplies.
- You will oversee the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection and tendering to contract negotiations, supplier performance management and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Working closely with engineering teams, Program Supply Managers and supplier account teams, you ensure continuity of supply, operational efficiency and compliance with technical specifications.
- You will also play an important role in maintaining strategic stock levels and supporting uninterrupted production operations.
This position reports directly to the Head of Procurement and offers a combination of strategic decision-making and operational coordination within a complex aerospace environment. The role is available for 40 hours per week with hybrid working possibilities. Due to ongoing growth and increasing project activity within the space division, the team is expanding its procurement capacity.
Who we are looking for:
- We are looking for a commercially driven and analytically strong procurement professional who feels comfortable operating in a technical and international environment.
- You have experience in strategic procurement, commodity buying or supply chain management and know how to balance stakeholder interests while maintaining focus on quality, cost optimization and continuity.
- You bring a Bachelor-level degree and strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, aerospace or another technical industry is considered a strong advantage, as you will regularly collaborate with engineers and work with technical specifications.
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential, as you will operate in an international setting with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, structured and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and integrity.
- You enjoy working in a collaborative environment where innovation, reliability and continuous improvement are key.
