Finance Business Partner – Procurement & Supply Chain (Europe)

Vacature opslaan

Are you looking for a Finance Business Partner role where you can influence strategic procurement decisions across Europe? Are you excited by the opportunity to build new reporting frameworks, challenge the status quo and partner with senior stakeholders in a leading international FMCG business?

Finance Business Partner – Procurement & Supply Chain (Europe) | Amsterdam

An internationally recognised consumer goods company is looking for a Finance Business Partner – Procurement & Supply Chain (Europe) to join their team.

This is a highly visible role where Finance sits at the heart of strategic decision-making. You'll partner closely with Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations leadership, helping the business understand the financial impact of raw material markets, procurement performance and cost optimisation initiatives across Europe.

If you enjoy combining commercial finance, business partnering, analytics and continuous improvement, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced international environment.

The Opportunity

As the Finance Business Partner for Procurement & Supply Chain, you'll act as the financial co-pilot for the European Procurement organisation.

You'll help shape procurement strategy by providing insight into commodity markets, material cost developments, purchase price variances, savings initiatives and operational performance. Beyond reporting, you'll drive standardisation, improve financial processes and build modern reporting solutions that support better business decisions.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing stakeholders, simplifying complexity and building new processes rather than simply maintaining existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Partner with European Procurement and Supply Chain leadership to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
  • Challenge and support procurement teams on cost-saving initiatives, value creation opportunities and financial impact.
  • Act as the finance expert for Procurement and Materials Controlling across Europe.
  • Present financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Materials & Commodity Finance

  • Develop clear visibility of commodity price movements across raw materials, packaging and energy.
  • Analyse Purchase Price Variance (PPV), material inflation and key cost drivers.
  • Support commodity exposure and hedging reporting.
  • Deliver robust analysis of material-related P&L impacts.

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting and transfer pricing processes relating to material costs.
  • Own monthly reporting covering:
    • Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
    • Procurement savings
    • Material cost forecasts
    • Commodity cost developments
    • Transfer pricing submissions
    • Supply Chain performance reporting
  • Provide meaningful analysis and recommendations that support commercial decision-making.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Drive continuous improvement across Procurement Finance and Materials Controlling.
  • Design and implement new reporting frameworks and governance processes.
  • Improve reporting automation and digitalisation using Power BI and other analytical tools.
  • Support the rollout of new finance and procurement reporting solutions across Europe.

Performance Management

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure procurement savings are accurately measured, tracked and embedded within business performance reporting.
  • Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

About You

You'll be an analytical Finance Business Partner who enjoys working in a commercially focused environment where finance plays an active role in influencing business decisions.

You'll likely bring:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
  • 5-7 years' experience in Finance Business Partnering, Financial Control or Supply Chain Finance within an international organisation.
  • Previous FMCG experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting Procurement, Supply Chain or Operations is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI and SAP.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English.

Experience That Will Set You Apart

Candidates with experience in FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods, manufacturing, ingredients, packaging, chemicals or commodity-driven industries will be particularly well suited.

The successful candidate will understand — or be excited to develop expertise in — areas such as:

  • Commodity price volatility
  • Raw material inflation
  • Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
  • Procurement savings and cost avoidance
  • Material cost forecasting
  • Transfer pricing
  • Hedging and commodity exposure
  • Supply chain financial performance
  • Cross-functional business partnering

Success comes from being commercially curious, influencing stakeholders and helping the business make better decisions through financial insight.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing international business where Finance is recognised as a true strategic partner.

You'll benefit from:

  • A highly visible European role with exposure to senior leadership.
  • The opportunity to influence procurement and supply chain strategy.
  • A collaborative, international environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ownership of impactful transformation and reporting projects.
  • Ongoing learning and career development within a global organisation.
  • A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

If you're looking for a Finance Business Partner role where you can combine commercial thinking, financial expertise and data-driven decision-making in a dynamic international environment, we'd love to hear from you.
