What you'll do:

As a Customer Service Representative based in Amsterdam, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your organisational skills are crucial for managing complex international orders. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close interaction with customers from diverse backgrounds, processing their purchase orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy. You will collaborate with multiple departments—ranging from sales to logistics—to ensure that every aspect of the order lifecycle runs smoothly. By preparing essential export documentation and coordinating shipments globally, you will play an integral role in delivering products that meet vital needs worldwide. Your ability to communicate effectively across languages and cultures will be invaluable as you address queries, resolve issues promptly, and foster positive relationships that drive repeat business.   • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and the international sales organisation regarding all order-related matters, ensuring clear and timely communication at every stage.
  • Establish and nurture key client relationships by providing attentive service that enhances overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Accurately process all assigned customer purchase orders into sales orders using JDE, adhering strictly to contractual agreements and internal guidelines.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all order-related data within JDE and other supporting systems, collaborating closely with relevant departments to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor the progress of sales orders proactively, keeping customers and sales colleagues informed about status updates or potential issues.
  • Prepare and apply for shipping and export documents required by both internal stakeholders and external governmental bodies or third parties.
  • Oversee the complete international shipping process, ensuring compliance with specific customer requirements for each shipment.
  • Determine, prepare, and manage all necessary export, transport, and billing documents to facilitate smooth shipments without delays or complications.
  • Engage in proactive communication with various departments and third parties to resolve any challenges swiftly, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
  • Support credit control activities by assisting with collections processes as needed, while also acting as backup for colleagues during absences.

What you bring:

Your background should include substantial time spent supporting customers—ideally within B2B settings—where you have demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism across every interaction. In addition to technical proficiency with ERP platforms like JDE and advanced spreadsheet tools such as Excel, you possess strong written and verbal communication skills that allow you to convey information clearly via email or phone. Your educational foundation—whether formal or gained through hands-on experience—equips you with knowledge of supply chain principles, export procedures, payment terms, customs requirements, and document handling best practices. Above all else, your collaborative spirit ensures that you contribute positively within teams while remaining dependable when working autonomously.

  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail while proactively identifying potential issues before they arise.

  • An enthusiastic, professional attitude combined with a genuine focus on delivering excellent customer service at all times.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales-Commercial disciplines, Logistics or Supply Chain—or equivalent experience gained through practical roles.
  • At least three years’ experience in sales support or customer service roles within an international B2B market; prior exposure to the food industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international payment terms, customs regulations, incoterms as well as hands-on experience handling export documentation is considered advantageous.
  • Proficiency using ERP systems (such as JDE) alongside advanced Excel skills; fluency in English is essential while Dutch or German language abilities are beneficial.
