Senior Accountant

Take the next step in your accounting career with an international organisation in the medical technology industry. As a Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of accounting activities for multiple European entities and contribute to accurate reporting, compliance and process improvements.

You will join a global organisation that develops innovative healthcare solutions. The finance team in Bunnik works closely with European colleagues and the global headquarters in a professional, collaborative and flexible working environment.

Your Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage accounting activities for assigned European entities, including month-end closing, reconciliations, VAT compliance and statutory reporting. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and act as a key contact for accounting matters. The role offers a hybrid working model with approximately two office days per week.

What You Will Do

• Manage accounting activities for multiple European entities
• Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare and review journal entries in Oracle ERP
• Handle VAT and Intrastat filings
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Review P&L and balance sheet results, including accruals and provisions
• Support statutory and external audits
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, including HGB requirements
• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial documentation
• Identify and support process improvements

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Several years of accounting experience in an international environment
• Strong General Ledger accounting experience
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
• Experience with VAT compliance and European accounting processes
• Experience with Oracle or another ERP system
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent or professional proficiency in German is essential
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Available for 32–40 hours per week
• Living in the Netherlands and eligible to work in the Netherlands with a valid residence permit
