The Role

For its Rotterdam-based operations, our client is looking for a Finance Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial activities of the organization. In this on-site role, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, provide strategic financial insights, and support management in financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports
• Analyze financial data to monitor performance and support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable reporting standards (GAAP / IFRS)

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Monitor variances and provide insight into financial performance versus budget
• Support management in financial planning activities

Cash Flow Management

• Oversee daily financial operations and cash flow
• Ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs

Risk Management

• Identify and assess financial risks
• Manage debt/equity ratios and implement mitigation strategies

Strategic Support

• Advise management on investments, financial strategy, and cost optimization
• Contribute to improving profitability and long-term financial stability

Compliance & Tax

• Ensure compliance with Dutch accounting principles, tax legislation, and internal policies
• Coordinate audits and manage external stakeholders where required

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial management role
• Experience in the marine, logistics, or supply chain industry is a strong advantage
• Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards and tax legislation
• Proven experience with complex financial reporting and analysis
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
• Fluent in English, Dutch, and Chinese (spoken and written) English and Chinese is mandatory
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Trusted with confidential and sensitive financial information
• Able to communicate effectively across different levels within the organization
