Medior Financial Controller

A fast-growing international organization in the fitness industry is expanding rapidly. The Finance department is undergoing multiple projects and transformations, including process improvements and the implementation of new policies and procedures. To support this growth, we are looking for a Financial Controller to help scale and optimize financial operations.

What Your Role Looks Like

As a Financial Controller, you will be part of an international Financial Control team consisting of approximately 14 professionals. This team is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting while working closely with various business stakeholders.

In this role, you will focus on improving the quality and efficiency of monthly financial reporting. You will take ownership of accurate and complete financial processing and reporting for a specific part of the business. You will also drive improvements to make financial processes more efficient, scalable, and future-proof.

You will be responsible for maintaining, processing, and reporting general ledger transactions across multiple operating countries. Together with Financial Accountants, you ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and on time, and that financial data is complete and compliant. Your responsibilities also include month-end closing, statutory reporting, and supporting external audits.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries, accruals, and other monthly accounting activities
• Create and review reconciliations and specifications for balance sheet and relevant P&L accounts
• Identify and implement process improvements and document procedures to increase efficiency
• Proactively identify issues impacting the general ledger and propose solutions
• Support external audits and other reporting requirements
• Contribute to the internal control framework, focusing on controls and policies
• Assist management with projects, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis
• Collaborate with various internal departments and stakeholders

Who You Are

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and driving improvements. You are analytical, accurate, and thrive in a dynamic and international environment.

We are looking for someone with:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (HBO/WO)
• At least 5 years of Financial Control experience (audit experience is a plus)
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
• Strong communication skills in English
• French language skills are a plus
• Experience with IFRS and SAP (S/4HANA Public Cloud) is preferred
• The ability to work with stakeholders across all levels of the organization
