Marvesa is a leading company in the supply of vegetable oil solutions for the animal nutrition and
renewable energy sector. Our product portfolio is diversified over a range of specialties and commodities
which Marvesa trades and supplies to various global geographies. The main base of our operations is
located in The Netherlands, whilst our sourcing and sales activities span the globe. By means of our end-
to-end service proposition, diversified product portfolio, and global reach, we optimize supply chain
efficiency, providing added value to both our suppliers and customers. In parallel of its home base
operations, Marvesa runs local sales offices and local tank terminal operations in Argentina, Germany,
Spain, Indonesia with more to come.
The animal nutritional business lines focus on delivering functional feed solutions to our customers; from
standard commodities to customer-specific blends being developed by our own R&D department. The
renewable energy business lines focus on sourcing, selling and shipping technical oils to the renewable
energy markets (i.e. biogas, biofuel). We continuously strive to enhance our relationships with our
customers and suppliers. By not only working with them commercially but also finding logistical solutions
to current issues.
Your department/ team
Marvesa’s activities and organization are growing, with significant milestones being achieved year-on-
year. In order to guide the organization’s sustainable growth, Marvesa is searching for a highly motivated
individual who’s keen to make a difference within its Finance & Control department.
The Lead Financial Controller reports directly into the Manager Finance & Control along with the
Business Controller and Treasurer. This role is responsible for leading a team of five colleagues (i.e.
assistant financial controller; two accountants; two accounts payables specialists) who directly report into
this role. The role is therefore requiring both technical expertise and team leading skills.
• Responsible for monthly group consolidation and underlying management accounts (total group
size: approx. EUR 400-450m), with both commercial activities and logistical activities segregated
in various entities;
• Coordination and optimize of monthly closing process and safeguarding timelines, whereby
optimization is finding the right balance between speed and details;
• Liaison for financial controllers in other geographies for sharing reporting guidelines and
practices;
• Coordination of financial audits with external auditor; involved in bank audits together with
treasurer;
reporting procedures into well-described accounting policies and controls;
• Coordination of VAT returns and compliance (NL/UK/GER/ESP), together with the assistant
financial controller (direct report);
• Coordination of monthly payroll process in collaboration with HR officer;
• Budget control over the group’s Opex;
• Significant projects on their way: implementation of new ERP system (MS Business Central);
consolidation tooling.
Your knowledge and experience
• A university degree in Accounting; Business Administration or equivalent;
• RA/CPA/RC qualification (or equivalent) is a plus;
• At least 8 years of working experience; comprising audit experience at a Big Four (or similar)
along with first experience in the industry as controller;
• Fluent in English and preferably Dutch;
• Experience in leading a team of specialists, with high energy, being a role model towards the
accounting team;
• Good understanding of financial systems. ERP knowledge on MS Dynamics or Navision (Business
Central) is a plus;
• You know how to work with data in a consistent, efficient and traceable way (PowerBI/Excel);
• Proficient (or willing to build deep knowledge) in VAT regulations. Liaison for external tax advisor
if deemed needed.
