About the role

For the office of our client, located in the vibrant heart of Rotterdam, we are looking for an enthusiastic TEMPORARY (4-5 months) Operational Care Specialist to join their Sea Logistics team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for coordinating the export of temperature-sensitive goods, ensuring they are picked up from the agreed location at the agreed time and reach their destination safely and efficiently.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Customer Care: Maintain frequent contact with customers, acting as the primary point of contact for Reefer export shipments.

• Shipment Coordination: Organize and monitor sea freight shipments (both port-to-port and door-to-door), ensuring smooth operational execution.

• Documentation & Information Flow: Ensure the timely delivery of accurate documentation and shipment details to clients and internal stakeholders, facilitating seamless operations and invoicing.

• Carrier & Subcontractor Liaison: Coordinate closely with carriers, subcontractors, and various internal departments to align on schedules, requirements, and service quality.

• Financial & Commercial Awareness: Handle orders with a keen eye on agreed rates and the nature of shipments, helping to maintain and potentially improve financial results on the services provided.

• Data-Driven Support: Utilize data insights to contribute to enhanced customer service and optimized operational processes.

Skills and education:

• Completed secondary vocational education (MBO) or higher.

• Prior experience in a similar operational role within sea logistics; specific experience with Reefer shipments is a strong advantage.

• Commercial mindset with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with customers, carriers, and internal colleagues.

• Comfortable working in a data-driven environment.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
