Category Manager Indirect Spend

We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager – Indirect Spend to join our team. For the first two years, you will focus on project coordination within a large-scale Strategic Sourcing program for indirect purchases. This will provide you with accelerated learning opportunities and exposure to both external consultants and internal stakeholders. Over time, you will transition into managing several strategic indirect categories, overseeing external procurement consultancies, and managing a spend portfolio of up to €40M.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Act as Project Coordinator for the first two years within a Strategic Sourcing program focused on indirect spend;
- Collaborate closely with external consultants to capture expertise and drive transformation initiatives;
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for procurement strategies;
- Gradually take ownership of multiple strategic indirect categories as Category Manager;
- Manage external procurement consultancies and oversee a spend portfolio of up to €40M;
- Drive innovation by leveraging new technologies and tools in procurement processes;
- Ensure organizational excellence through effective project management and stakeholder engagement.
Your Profile
You are an ambitious professional with strong potential for growth and development. You have excellent communication skills, proven organizational abilities, and a proactive mindset. Additionally, you bring:
- Experience: 3-7 years in Procurement Category Management or Indirect Spend;
- Strategic Sourcing Exposure: Ideally gained through participation in programs led by external consultancies or transformation projects;
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to coordinate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders;
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to onboard and convince stakeholders at various levels of the organization;
- Tech-Savviness: An appetite for using new technologies to enhance work processes;
- Learning Agility: A desire to continuously develop expertise in procurement and category management.
